Inclement Weather Policy

Level 1 and 2 - Court will be open and operating under normal procedures. If inclement weather prohibits you from safely traveling, please call to request a continuance of your proceeding.

Level 3 - Court will be closed. Please contact the Court on the following business day to reschedule your proceeding.

Court Jurisdiction

The Zanesville Municipal Court has territorial jurisdiction over the City of Zanesville.

The Zanesville Municipal Court has subject matter jurisdiction over misdemeanor criminal cases; traffic cases; limited proceedings in felony cases; civil cases where the amount in controversy does not exceed $15,000.00; and Small Claims cases where the amount in controversy does not exceed $6,000.00. Civil marriages are also performed by the Judge.
